How I Learnt to Love Shopping

Hello! My name is Bill and I live in New South Wales. For many years, I hated shopping. My wife would take me to the local mall and I would stomp around the place with her in a terrible mood. However, my entire attitude to shopping changed when I was introduced to a personal shopping service. The guy who took me out looking for new clothes was really great and he made the entire experience super fun. I decided to start writing this blog so I could remind myself how much my attitude to shopping has changed. I hope you enjoy reading it!

Four Easy Ways To Ensure Your Workwear Lasts

Blog

As a business owner or manager, the last thing you want to have to do is replace your staff's workwear every now and again. It will cost you money, not to mention the time you will need to put in working the logistics of placing your order from suppliers.

How then, can you ensure that your team's workwear lasts? Here are a few easy tips to bear in mind that will guarantee the longevity of your uniforms.

1. Buy Right

As with everything else, the quality of your workwear is the first thing that will determine how long it lasts. Invest in the best quality there is in the market, even if it costs you a little more. Buy cheap, and you may end up having to buy new workwear soon after buying the first batch if the quality is not as great.

You should also ensure that you buy the right size for each workwear item. If your staff have to squeeze themselves into their overalls, it should come as no surprise if the items tear. You will have no choice but to replace them.

2. Be Careful With Your Wash

Always stick to the manufacturer's wash and care instructions as highlighted on the labels. You should also be careful about your choice of detergent. Watch the heat and work with a wash cycle that is suitable for your uniforms.

With the right wash and care, you can avoid shrinkages, colours washing off of the different workwear items and fading. Ensure that those responsible for washing these items stick to the manufacturers' recommendations.

3. Watch Where You Store

Avoid damage to your workwear by storing them in a storage space that is not exposed to direct sunlight and chemicals. You may also want to re-consider a space where there is too much heat and humidity.

If the workers leave their workwear at work, ensure that the storage space set aside for this purpose is conducive for the function.

4. Fix What Needs Fixing

Always check your workwear for damage and faults. Neglecting to mend a seemingly small tear here and there can cost you a lot when the tear slowly becomes bigger with every wear. Whether it is an in-house or outsourced function, ensure that you take care of any damages as soon as possible.

By buying right, exercising great care during washing and storage, and fixing damages before they become bigger, you can extend the life of your workwear and avoid spending so much on replacements.
